1. Who we are
In this policy, "JobSwitch," "we," "us," and "our" refer to JobSwitch, the operator of the JobSwitch service. JobSwitch is based in India and acts as the data controller for personal data we collect from you directly through the WhatsApp agent and this website.

2. Scope
This policy covers the JobSwitch WhatsApp agent and this website (jobswitch.app). It does not cover third-party sites, job boards, applicant tracking systems, or employer career pages that we may submit applications to on your behalf — those are governed by their own privacy policies.
3. What we collect
3.1 Information you give us
- Identity and contact: your name, email, and phone number (the WhatsApp number you use to talk to the agent).
- Resume or CV: the file you share, plus its parsed contents — employment history, education, skills, certifications, salary expectations, and location preferences.
- Preferences: roles, industries, seniority, work style, and any constraints you give the agent.
- Conversations: your WhatsApp messages with the agent, including any documents, links, or instructions you send.
3.2 Information we generate
- Agent decisions and reasoning: which roles the agent surfaced, why, and what it chose to act on.
- Application records: which roles were applied to, when, and the content of each submission.
- Match scores and drafts created on your behalf.
3.3 Information collected automatically
- Minimal site analytics on jobswitch.app — page views, referrer, device type. We do not run advertising cookies during beta.
4. How we use your data
- To find roles that fit your profile and preferences.
- To draft and submit applications on your behalf when you instruct the agent to do so.
- To communicate with you on WhatsApp about candidates, applications, and responses.
- To send essential service emails (account, security, policy updates).
- To improve the service using aggregated and anonymized signals. You can opt out of this at any time by emailing us.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse of the service.
5. AI processing and third-party providers
The JobSwitch agent uses third-party large language models and infrastructure to read your resume, reason about roles, and draft applications. We use these providers in API mode only — your prompts and data are not used to train their models, and they retain data only for the short window required to operate the API.
Our current categories of sub-processors include a large language model provider, a WhatsApp Business API provider, our hosting provider, and a transactional email provider. The current list of sub-processors is maintained in our Data Processing Addendum.
6. When we share your data
- With employers, when you ask us to. Submitting applications on your behalf is the entire point of the product. When the agent applies to a role, your resume and application content are sent to that employer or their applicant tracking system.
- With sub-processors who help us operate the service, under written data-processing terms.
- If required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- In a business transfer (merger, acquisition, restructuring) — your data moves under the same terms.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising or share it with data brokers.
7. How long we keep it
- Resume, profile, and preferences: kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure, or sooner on request.
- Application records: kept for 24 months so you have a history of where you applied.
- WhatsApp message logs: kept for 12 months for safety, abuse review, and service quality.
- Aggregated and anonymized analytics: may be retained beyond these windows.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Receive a portable copy of your data.
- Object to certain types of processing, or withdraw consent.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, these rights apply to all users. If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, equivalent rights under GDPR or CCPA apply. To exercise any right, email hi@jobswitch.app from your registered email or send a message from your registered WhatsApp number. We respond within statutory windows (typically 30 days).
9. Security
We protect your data with TLS in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and least-privilege access for our team. We log access to personal data and review it.
Honest disclosure: JobSwitch is a beta product. We have not yet completed third-party audits such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001. As we grow, our security program will too. If we ever suffer a personal-data breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant regulator without undue delay.
10. Children
JobSwitch is not for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the service, contact us and we will delete their data.
11. International transfers
We are based in India. Some of our sub-processors operate in other countries (for example, the United States or the European Union). When your data is transferred outside India, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms to protect it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. For material changes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice via email and WhatsApp before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top always reflects the current version.
