How does JobSwitch work inside WhatsApp?

You message our number, tell us what you're looking for, and we send role matches as they appear. Approve with YES, decline with NO. There's no app to install and no dashboard to learn — WhatsApp is the entire product surface.

Does the agent apply on my behalf automatically?

No. By default, JobSwitch never submits an application without a YES from you. We send you the role, a short summary, and a draft of the tailored resume. You read it, you decide.

What does the agent actually do for each application?

It reads the job description, picks the most relevant parts of your background, rewrites your resume and cover letter to fit, fills in the company's application form, and only submits once you've said yes. You stay in control end to end.

Easy Apply sends the same resume to every role with one click — high volume, low signal. JobSwitch reads each job, rewrites your application to fit, and only applies when there's a real signal of match. Quality, not volume.

What happens if I reject a job?

Nothing breaks. The agent learns from your no — what kind of role, company, comp, or location you're skipping — and gets sharper on the next batch.

What data do you store about me?

Your resume, the chat history with the agent, the roles you've reviewed, and the applications you've approved. That's it. We don't read your other WhatsApp chats — Meta's API only sends us the messages you send to JobSwitch's number.

Where does my data live?

Encrypted at rest, on servers we operate in India. Your resume is never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used to train models you don't own.

Can the agent read my other WhatsApp messages?

No. WhatsApp's Cloud API only delivers the messages you send to the JobSwitch number. We can't see, and have no access to, any of your other chats.

Will recruiters know I used an AI?

No. The output is tailored to your resume, your voice, and the role's specifics. It reads like you wrote it because the substance is yours — the agent does the work of personalizing, not of impersonating.

How do I delete my data?

Send the message 'forget me' to JobSwitch on WhatsApp. We delete your resume, chat history, and application records within 24 hours. No forms, no email chain.

Do you share my data with the companies I apply to?

Only what's in your application — the same resume, cover letter, and form fields you'd submit yourself. Nothing else.

How much does JobSwitch cost?

Free during beta. No credit card. There's a fair-share cap of 30 applications per calendar month so we can keep beta sustainable while serving every user well. When we launch paid tiers, beta users get a meaningful discount.

Why is the beta capped at 30 applications a month?

Every application runs an LLM tailoring step and a real form submission, both of which cost us real money. 30/month is roughly one per business day — enough to actually job-hunt with, without making beta financially unsustainable. If you regularly need more, message us; we'll work something out case by case.

What happens when I hit the monthly cap?

The agent stops submitting new applications and tells you on WhatsApp. Roles you've already approved still complete. The cap resets on the 1st of the next month.

Will paid plans meter applications the way Sprout does?

No. Per-application metering rewards volume over fit, which is the opposite of what we're building. The plan is a flat monthly fee with a generous allowance — enough that you don't have to ration the decision to apply.

Right now, mostly tech companies hiring in India — FAANG, the larger Indian unicorns, and well-funded global startups with India presence. We're adding new sources every week.

What types of roles work best?

Software engineering, data, product, and design roles where the company runs an online application process. If the role requires applying through a specific recruiter relationship, we'll flag it and step aside.

Can I apply to companies you don't currently support?

Send us the company and we'll add it to the queue. We're expanding sources continuously and prioritise the ones our beta users actually want.

Today, no — we've focused the agent on tech roles where we can do a high-quality job. Other verticals are on the roadmap.

Do I need to be in India?

For now, yes — we're focused on roles open to candidates in India (including remote-from-India roles at global companies). We'll expand once the India experience is fully solid.

I'm a student / new grad. Will JobSwitch work for me?

Yes. The agent works as well for new grads as for senior engineers — the only thing it needs is a resume that's roughly current. If you're early in your career and not sure what to put on your resume, message us and we'll help.

I'm targeting a senior role. Is the agent good enough?

Accepted Answer

Honest answer: for very senior roles (Director / Staff+ at top-tier companies), human relationships still matter more than any application tool can. JobSwitch handles the form-filling and tailoring so you can spend your time on the relationship side.

How do I pause the agent?

Send 'pause' on WhatsApp. We stop sending matches until you say 'resume'. No applications are submitted during a pause.

Can I edit my preferences mid-search?

Yes. Just tell the agent what changed — 'lower the salary floor to ₹40L', 'no more remote roles', 'focus on Bangalore only'. It updates immediately.

What if the agent submits something I didn't want?

By default it can't — we require a YES from you. If you used auto-apply for high-confidence matches and want to roll one back, message us within the day and we'll do our best to retract it.
