Founder's Office

Work directly with the founders. Whatever's on fire that week — hiring, ops, investor updates, product research, user interviews — is yours.

Remote — IST overlapInternship / Full-time

This is the highest-variance role on the team. One week you're prepping an investor update, the next you're running user interviews, the next you're figuring out why a Celery worker is dying at 3am. If you want a job description with a clean scope, this isn't it. If you want a job where you build judgment fast and touch every part of the business, keep reading.

What you'll own

  • Strategic projects that don't cleanly fit any one team — the kind of work that usually gets dropped in a fast-moving startup.
  • First drafts of investor and customer comms, board decks, and internal writeups.
  • User research — talking to real candidates every week, synthesizing what you hear, and turning it into product bets.
  • Hiring pipeline: sourcing, first-touch conversations with candidates, keeping the process moving.
  • Ops — vendors, contracts, tools, whatever needs a grown-up in the room.

What we're looking for

We hire on trajectory, not pedigree. If you've built or run something end-to-end — a project, a community, a company, a Substack — that's the signal we care about. College rank and GPA don't move the needle.

  • High-agency generalist. You look at a mess, form a plan, and start moving without being asked twice.
  • Strong written communication. You can turn a fuzzy meeting into a crisp one-page memo.
  • Ability to context-switch across product, hiring, ops, and comms without dropping balls.
  • Ownership by default. When something breaks, your first instinct is to fix it, not file a ticket.
  • Judgment about what matters this week vs. what can wait until next quarter.

Nice to have

  • Previous startup or founder experience, even a failed one.
  • A public body of work — writing, projects, communities you've built.
  • Comfort with SQL, Notion, and light scripting to unblock yourself.

The offer

  • Where: remote-friendly, IST overlap preferred.
  • Shape: internship or full-time — we're flexible. Interns who ship well convert to full-time or PPO offers. If you're in college, treat this as a real path, not a parking lot.
  • Stipend: varies with prior experience. If you've shipped work you're proud of, bring links — the stronger the portfolio, the more room to negotiate.
  • Start: rolling. We read every application within a few days.

How to apply

Email hi@jobswitch.app with the subject line "Founder's Office" and include:

  • A link to your previous work — portfolio, GitHub, Dribbble, a deployed side project, a Notion page, a Substack, whatever best shows what you can do.
  • One or two lines on what caught your eye about JobSwitch and what you'd want to build here.

We read every email. If it's a fit, expect a reply within a few days with a short take-home or a call.
